My Current Favourites

Hey Ladies,

I hope you're all well, my post today is a favourites post. I realise it's not exactly the norm to do a favourites post at this time of the month but I'm all about being different. I wanted to share with you some of the things that have kept me perky this month. It's been a busy few weeks for me, my daughter started primary school, it's her very first year, that in itself is quite tiring, but it's also a lot of fun.I'll insert a little picture of her in her uniform, because I'm nothing else if not a proud momma! My arthritis is rearing it's ugly head again, which means I'm in chronic pain, and I am totally exhausted all the time. BUT I have to push through it and not be a moaning Mary too much, it will get easier once I adjust to the pain. My favourites are quite a random mix, ranging from beauty, skincare and fragrance to books and DVDs. Let's get started!

Quite a bunch, right? This grouping of my favourites is a first for me, normally I tend to wander from product to product, but the past few weeks, I've been using these pretty frequently. I'm totally in love with all of these products, so let me talk you through them and tell you why...

For skincare I've been alternating a bit and here's why:

I purchased the Avene Cleanance K on the recommendation of the lovely Laura over at Call of Beauty This was during the period when I was wrestling with my bank card over whether Alpha H Liquid Gold was worth the money due to all the hype, but that's a different post. Cleanance K is an exfoliating, hydrating moisturiser for oily, blemish prone skin. Now, I don't have oily skin, but I said I would give it a whirl, due to the fact it was supposed to act in the same way as Alpha H, it does, very similar, but just to a lesser extent.

Lush British Nanny I adore this moisturiser, it's very rich and smells just divine. it contains almond, hibiscus oils and it's full of vitamins C and E it also has an SPF 30. I use this every second night, it's fantastic.

Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Super Serum I use this under British Nanny, it smells just like Wish Upon a Jar, kind of rich and chocolatey. It leaves my skin plump and hydrated.

Victoria's Secret Love Spell Midnight and Pure Seduction Midnight I have gotten into the habit of using body creams and layering with a complimenting body spray, both of these smell very like what I imagine Winter smells like, there's a lot of depth to these, kind of fruity and musky but not over powering

My beauty favourites this month are:

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation I have been using this a lot lately, I'm almost out. It gives a medium to full coverage and it blends like a dream, it's one of my all time favourite foundations.

Stila Kitten is one of those amazing buttery 'all over the lid and wear nothing else' shadows. It's a champagne pinky gold colour and is perfect for every day.

Tarte Eyeshadow and Blush Palette this is my first foray into the world of Tarte shadows and I am really impressed, they are very similar to UD, they blend beautifully and apply so smoothly.

Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara This mascara blew me away, it's just incredible, it separates, lengthens and curls, it doesn't leave the lashes spindley and theres no issues with removing it.

MAC Chromographic Pencil NC15/NW20 I have been using this along the lower water line and it just makes the eyes look bright and awake.

Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Shadow 29 I couldn't be more in love with this shadow, it's perfection. It's a shimmery cream pink and it's just amazing on the eyes.

Inglot Nail Polish I have these in a variety of shades but I think this taupey brown is just right for heading into the Autumn months.

Armani Rouge d'Armani Sheer Lipstick in shade 202 This is a nude beige, a lovely every day colour that you can keep in your handbag for top ups on the go without a mirror

Real Techniques Kabuki Brush This has been my go to foundation brush, it's just great for buffing and blending. it's so soft and easy to work with.

Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energising Eye Gel I have been applying this under my foundation, It plumps up the area and lessens the appearance of dark circles.

The two perfumes I have been wearing more than any others are:

Lancome La Vie Est Belle I'm crazy about this fragrance it's very deep and it's a very distinctive scent, if you want to read a full review on this, you can read it here.

Clarins Eau Dynamisante This is my work perfume, it's fresh and zingy. It smells very clean and  unoffensive. It smells like Clarins if that makes any sense? I love this scent.

I have been a little obsessed with TV series lately as you can see. One book in particular has caught my attention:

The Vampire Diaries Season 3 I had to buy this the second it came out. This season had a lot of twists and surprises. It didn't disappoint me at all. It did contain one very important thing though... Ian Somerholder (Damon Salvatore) I think he might be in the running for the most beautiful man on the planet. The last episode of course was an emotional rollercoster. *SPOILER ALERT, LOOK AWAY NOW!* Damon met Elena first?! Come on! he's so much better than Stefan, and he's fun and dangerous. Ughhh, stupid Elena.

The Gilmore Girls I started watching this because its part of my childhood really. I have all the seasons and I am slightly obsessed. I love Lorelai, single mother raising her daughter... I get it. I think thats why I like it so much... It's relatable, I'm on season 3 at the mo, and I'm loving it.

Suri's Burn Book by Allie Hagan I discovered Suri's Burn Book on Twitter, it's basically Suri Cruise giving all the Hollywood kids a piece of her mind. I finished this book in two days. It was witty, smart, and funny, the tag line for the book is 'Well dressed commentary from Hollywood's little sweetheart. It's perfect. All I can say is Shilou Jolie/Pitt better watch out!

Here she is after her first day, I'm so proud of her! I hope all the other mummy's didn't have too much of a rough time on the first day!

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!
What are some of your current favourites?
Let me know!
Until next time
xoxo
