Urban Decay Naked BB Cream

Hey Ladies,

I hope you are all well. I am so sorry for the lack of posts recently. I have pneumonia and am only now starting to feel a bit more human. Todays post is something I dont tend to do too often. A bad review, I tend to subscribe to the school of thought that if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything... Hold your tounge, but I cant with this. The Urban Decay - Naked Skin Beauty Balm.

So, those of you who know me, will know my absolute adoration for all things Urban Decay, love the brand, love the products, I have never purchased anything that I regret... Until now. I am pretty new to the world of BB creams, but I have educated myself enough via fellow bloggers and the blogsphere in general.to know a dud when I lay my hands on one. After a few good experiences with various BB creams I was really excited to see what Urban Decay had to offer. So I took the plunge and bought their version of a BB cream 'Naked Skin'. I had high hopes, UD is a brand that rarely let me down. So, when I applied it for the first time, my heart sank with the results.

Where did it all go wrong I hear you ask? Well, the first thing I was met with was a very orange tinted liquid. I said I would perservere with it and that maybe it might adjust to my skin tone or something, once i applied it to my skin it just sheered away and left nothing but an orange sheen on my skin. It didnt offer any coverage what so ever, it didnt even my skintone out, or reduce the size of pores like it claimed it would. The only thing I was left with was a sheer 'You've been tango-ed' orange glowy/film over my skin. Not good.

Urban Decay - Oz Palettes

Hey ladies,

I hope you're all well. I have decided to share a little secret with you, I've become addicted to the two palettes I am about to show you, a day hasn't gone by the past few weeks where I haven't reached for these. The Urban Decay 'Oz the Great and Powerful' palettes in Theodora and Glinda have completely blown all my other eye shadows be it single or palettes, out of the water. I am just in love with these!

Let's start with Theodora. I was more than a little biased when it came to choosing a favourite, the main reason for choosing Theodora was because Mila Kunis plays the role of the witch. Now, I know I'm not alone in saying I have a total crush on Mila, and knowing that this palette was designed around her look just made me love it all the more!

The palette contains 4 full sized shades and 2 full sized split shades. Broken - a pale cream. Beware - matte warm brown. Bewitched - a charcoal brown. West - a deep metallic brown with shimmer. Spell - black with green and gold shimmer and gold metallic. Jealous - dark forest green and a paler green pearl. It also includes a 24/7 liner in Zero. The formulation of this palette is what you would come to expect from Urban Decay. Pure perfection. The shades are creamy, fantastically pigmented and as always highly blendable. The colours included are extremely versatile, there are so many looks you can achieve with this palette, I just love it. The shades have great longevity, day to night using my primer potion, but I have also road tested these shadows without the primer and I find they last about 8 hours before they start to fade.

Theodora Palette - Urban Decay

Next up is Glinda the good! The Glinda palette is beautiful, the colours are just so pretty and feminine. The part of Glinda is played by Michelle Williams in the movie. This palette represents the beauty and femininity of Glinda, any fans of the new or original Oz will love this collection of shades. I think as kids we all liked to pretend we were the good witch of the south (my brother was always the flying monkey).

Like the Theodora palette, Glinda contains 4 full sized shadows with 2 full sized split shades. Tornado - a highly pigmented deep purple shimmer. Aura - an iridescent white with a gold shimmer and an iridescent white with blue shimmer. Magic - an almost pastel pink with golden shimmer. Illusion - a pale peach satin. Oz - a dirty gold with silver shimmer and a blue toned silver with silver glitter. South - a pale taupey silver with micro glitter. The palette also comes with 24/7 liner in Rockstar. Again the pigmentation and blendability of the shadow is just second to none. Urban Decay have always been my go to shadow of choice for the simple reason that no matter if its a single shadow or a palette the texture, pigmentation, transfer to the eye and wear time of the shadows just cannot be beaten.

Glinda Palette - Urban Decay

The palettes also come with an Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour, one for each palette 'Glinda' a gorgeous nude and 'Theodora' a stunning deep red cream. Both of these are a pleasure to use, they're moisturising on the lips and application is flawless.

So, my final thoughts on the Oz Palettes from Urban Decay? I adore them. I really do. I think if you're still in two minds about them you need to go to your nearest counter and swatch these. I can promise you, you'll have an overwhelming urge to pick up one if not both of these. They are perfect in every way. I have gotten so much use out of these, and I will continue to use these... somehow, I cant see these little palettes losing their magic for me, maybe they might cast a little spell on you too? (see what I did there?! No? I'll get me coat...).

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!

Clarins Favourites!

Hey Ladies,

I hope you're all well. Over the past few days, during my daily routine of getting ready I had a 'moment' where I realised that two particular products have become staples in my routine without me even noticing! Now you all know about my love for Clarins, but these two little items have become things I cannot live without. I bought them on a whim and never used them for a while, and then like most beauty addicts you discover things you forgot you had and bam! you're in love...

One thing that tends to draw me to Clarins products is the scent. I always thought if I could find a fragrance that smelled like Clarins products I would be all over it. I discovered Eau Dynamisante by accident, while purchasing my toner at the Clarins counter they had the scents on display and I ACCIDENTALLY knocked one over. Out of sheer mortification I purchased 'the one in the red bottle' without even smelling it. After I had ran out of the shop to die of embarrassment in comfort, I went home to have a little sniff and that was it, the scent of Clarins in a perfume, I was hooked! The fragrance itself is fresh and invigorating, and just smells like clean! I have a habit of spraying this on me after my night time shower, it's just beautiful. This is a perfect scent for Spring/Summer. If you have never tried this scent I highly recommend you have a spritz!

The Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment was something I had wanted for quite a while. I had read very mixed reviews on this from a few fellow bloggers, but I have to say, I really like it. I got this for half price with a voucher full price is €19 and honestly when this runs out I will have no issue with repurchasing at full price. It smells fantastic and I find it does moisturise my hands very well. It's non greasy and sinks into the hands beautifully. I like it so much I find myself reaching for this four or five times a day and a little tip is, it is perfect to use after exfoliating your hands. Like a mini spa treatment its a real treat!

That's it for now ladies,
Just a little insight into 2 Clarins products I have been really enjoying!
Have you tried either of these?
These may be good gift ideas for Mothers Day!
What are you loving at the moment?!
As always, let me knew below.
Until next time

Urban Decay - Naked Flushed

Hey Ladies,

I hope you are all well, any of you who have been with me from the beginning will know about my huge obsession with all things Urban Decay, to this day the post I did on my Urban Decay collection is one of my most viewed posts! Since then my collection has been ever expanding. I think that lately UD have been knocking it out of the park with new products and honestly, I just cannot get enough! The Naked line from Urban Decay just draws me in completely. I was in line for the release of the original Naked palette, I was first in line for the Naked 2, and honestly the entire line just doesn't disappoint. When I found out that a face palette was to be the newest addition to the Naked family, I was incredibly excited to see what it had to offer. Let's have a little look shall we?!

The Naked Flushed has quickly become part of my daily makeup routine. The sleek packaging is light yet sturdy, its perfect for travel! The three sections of the palette include a bronzer, blush and highlighter. The formulation of these are just perfect, Urban Decay have done an incredible job on the formulation of these powders. All three glide effortlessly onto the skin and require very little effort to blend.

The bronzer in the palette is a beautiful matte, that suits pale skin perfectly. Its not too orangey, and its not a muddy brown either. It strikes that happy balance that us pale face ladies strive to find in a good bronzer. I apply it with a synthetic brush to contour and the blendability of this bronzer is just fantastic. it requires little to no effort and doesn't leave you looking like you've been tango'd! The highlight shade is a champagne beige pink with a subtle almost metallic sheen. I used this to highlight the high points of my cheekbones, as an under arch highlight and on the cupids bow, I found it subtle and beautiful, incredibly easy to work with. The blush is a dark rosey pink with a hint of coral. I would advise caution with this shade if you tend to be a tad heavy handed with your blush (let's face it, we're all a bit guilty of that sometimes!) The blush itself is almost satin in texture, aside from the issue of maybe being a bit heavy handed application wise, I couldn't fault this blush, it transfer beautifully from palette to cheek, really lovely to use,

As you can see from the above picture, the palette transfers beautifully to the face. So, what are my final thoughts? I love it. Really. I think it's another great addition to the Naked family. It's now part of my daily routine and I have already talked two friends into investing! I really don't think you can go wrong with this little beauty, so the next time you're near an Urban Decay counter, definitely have yourself a little look, and if you're feeling generous, why not treat yourself?! The Naked Flushed does not disappoint!

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!
